step 2 sand table

I recently became the director of one year of age in group 3. Suggestions?

A coworker recently asked to step down from his position as director of three years age group due to a conflict with another preschool teacher. When asked who wanted to take charge of their group – which it chose me. I have 20 years of age and have not had ANY expierence with lesson planning and such. I go to school for early childhood, so I have taught a bit about this in my classes. I have to include math and science in my lesson plan every day with the group of children from 3 years (and some that are 2, 3 this year turning) … I have some ideas for mathematics and the use of measuring cups in the water / sand table, sorting shapes, matching shapes, towers to build with legos and compare their size. And for science have watching our nest (we have an ant farm), find items that float and objects that sink in the water table, go hunting error 'to' out. What other ideas would be appropriate for the age of one year 3, and include science and math?
